Boba Fett Movie Will Be Written By The Writer Of The ‘Walking Dead’ Video Game Series?
Could the Boba Fett movie be written by the writer of the movie Book Of Eli and Telltale’s Walking Dead video game series?
In a related report by The Inquisitr, several leaks and rumors seem to indicate that Harrison Ford’s character Han Solo will die in the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7 movie.
We also may know that the director for the Boba Fett movie is the same guy who did Godzilla:
“Directing a Star Wars spinoff will be a monster jump for Gareth Edwards whose humble beginnings as a director stemmed from his work as a digital artist with End Day, a TV docudrama produced by the BBC for the National Geographic Channel focusing on various doomsday scenarios. His next feature film length project would be the $500,000 budget Monsters and then the well received Godzilla in 2014. Edwards is attached to direct Godzilla 2 and 3.”
It’s said that Edwards will be directing a Star Wars movie set for 2016, so assuming the Boba Fett release date leak is true then that would mean he must be the director.
The news about the writer comes to us from Kotaku, who describes him this way:
“The writer is an interesting choice. It’s Gary Whitta, who many folks will know as a Hollywood screenwriter, but who many of you may remember as not only a former games journalist (mostly with PC Gamer), but also one of the writers involved in Telltale’s Walking Dead series. He also wrote the Denzel Washington film Book of Eli.”
Of course, take all of this with a huge grain of salt since the very first confirmation of the Boba Fett movie came from director John Schnepp, who said that writer Lawrence Kasdan will be handling the project:
“One of them is Boba Fett. It is. I know. I know for a fact. I will never reveal my source, but it is the one written by Lawrence Kasdan.”
If you don’t know who that is, Kasdan wrote The Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi, and Raiders of the Lost Ark.
So this news gives only limited possibilities. Since we know that Disney executives were talking about the difficulty of writing the Boba Fett script, it is possible the writing position was changed from Kasdan to Whitta. The other possibility is that the release date leak for all the movies was wrong and the Boba Fett movie is slated for another year other than 2016. This means Whitta could be the writer for a different Star Wars spinoff.
Who would you want to handle the writing for the Boba Fett movie?
