Taylor Swift Thinks Ed Sheeran’s New Girlfriend Is Pretty Cool

Taylor Swift has given Ed Sheeran’s new lady her official seal of approval.

When you’re dating someone new, it’s always helpful when friends think your partner fits the proverbial bill. Otherwise you run the risk of some awkward encounters between your BFF and your main squeeze. Fortunately for the “A Team” singer, Swift doesn’t have a problem with the singer’s new girlfriend.

How do we know what Taylor Swift thinks of his new flame? Sheeran recently discussed the matter with the folks at Us Weekly. Instead of telling Ed to dump his new love interest on the side of the desolate road in the middle of nowhere, Swift apparently thinks she’s a perfect match for the guy.

“We went for dinner in London. Taylor Swift likes her,” Ed recently told the magazine. Although he wouldn’t cough up any specific details about the woman, he did say she “works for a food company — well not a food company, she works for a chef.”

The acclaimed songwriter definitely thinks a lot of Swift’s opinion. The Inquisitr previously reported that he sought the country music star’s approval when he began penning tunes for his upcoming album X. Although Ed and Taylor didn’t collaborate on any songs, this didn’t stop the guy from picking her brain about the new material.

“Whenever I finished a song, I’d send it to Taylor Swift to get her opinion. She’s heard all the songs and she’s a good judge of what’s good or not good,” he previously explained.

Here’s hoping the singer’s latest relationship turns out better than the one that inspired the tune “Don’t.” According to Ed, the track popped into his creative mind after his former girlfriend cheated on him at hotel while he was hanging out in the lobby. Although he didn’t mention the offender by name, people speculate that the tune is about Ellie Goulding.

“The last album was more young and dewy-eyed and innocent. I’ve still got very nice songs on this record but some of them are bitey. The story in ‘Don’t’ is 100 percent true. I could have gotten nastier — there was more s*** that I didn’t put in,” Sheeran said.

He added, “I was seeing someone for a bit, and then they ended up physically involved with one of my friends in the same hotel that we were staying in, while I was downstairs. And I feel like: ‘Treat people how you want to be treated.'”

Until Ed Sheeran’s new girlfriend breaks his heart, she has Taylor Swift’s seal of approval. Heaven help the poor girl if she ends up on Taylor’s bad side.
