Kate Middleton missed out on a Ralph Lauren charity dinner this week, and while sources say the Duchess had to duck out to take care of her infant son, there is rising speculation that she is actually pregnant and once again suffering morning sickness.
There have been rumors of a second pregnancy circulating for months, though Kate and Prince William have not graced them with a response.
But despite a lack of confirmation, reports of a second pregnancy are picking up steam. Life & Style magazine actually reported that an official announcement was on the way soon, and that Kate Middleton was clearing her schedule due to early pregnancy sickness.
Life & Style also reported that Kate shared the news of her pregnancy with William during their three-week trip to New Zealand and Australia.
“Prince William presented Kate Middleton with a dazzling $5,650 Cartier watch, but the top-of-the-line timepiece couldn’t match the Duchess of Cambridge’s gift for her husband,” the report noted.
Many insiders think it was again morning sickness that kept Kate from the Ralph Lauren event , which they said she would have never missed otherwise. Her absence actually created quite a stir, a source told the Daily Mail .
“Ralph Lauren was furious when he found out less than six weeks ago that Kate would not be there,” the source said. “He considered pulling out but was told by his PR advisers that it would look terrible. The company thought they were getting Kate, the most famous clothes horse in the world, and also a runway show at the castle.”
Officially, Ralph Lauren and the event’s organizers said it didn’t bother them that Kate couldn’t show up. The dinner itself was a benefit for the Royal Marsden cancer hospital, of which Prince William is a patron. When asked about Kate Middleton not attending, a spokesman for the charity stated, “We wouldn’t comment on such things.”
“Mr Lauren has only ever been enthusiastic about attending the event,” a representative for the fashion icon added.
The absence was seen as strange given that Kate is a big fan of Ralph Lauren, often wearing outfits he has designed.
If Kate Middleton is pregnant, it would explain her absence at the event. When the Duchess was pregnant with Prince George, she suffered from a severe form of morning sickness that left her dehydrated and in need of a hospital stay to get intravenous fluids.
