‘Duck Dynasty’ Season 6 Premiere Date Released, Boycotts Continue
Season 6 of A&E’s hit series Duck Dynasty will premiere on June 11. According to The Chicago Tribune, The Robertsons will be back at 10 p.m. on Wednesday nights. The network hopes that they can pull solid ratings throughout the season after last season’s finale took a hit in viewership. While the episode average was 10.5 million viewers, the finale saw only about 6 million viewers — nearly 2.5 million less than the season 4 finale.
Highlights of the upcoming season are as follows:
“Family patriarch Phil Robertson increasingly entangled in his never-ending battle with the beavers on his land. Willie, meanwhile, tries to keep everything afloat while managing brother Jase‘s deadpan humor alongside Uncle Si’s backwoods philosophies. Outside of the family business, Miss Kaydecides she has time to take up coupon-cutting while the whole family gathers around to cheer on Reed as he graduates from high school.”
Duck Dynasty has done extremely well for A&E, and only hit a real snag after Phil Robertson made anti-gay remarks and started a firestorm that still hasn’t completely settled. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, there are still people who feel the need to boycott the southern family. Naturally there will be some people completely disinterested in watching the new season, but there will be millions of others tuning in so things should shake out just fine.
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal will make an appearance on the premiere of Duck Dynasty. According to Raw Story, Jindal will be presenting Willie Robertson with the first ever “Governor’s Award for Entrepreneurial Excellence.” The award was presented to Willie back in February but A&E cameras were on-hand to film for the show.
Jindal said he was presenting the award to Duck Commander and the Robertson family because of the “tremendous impact that Duck Commander has had” in the state of Louisiana.
Jindal added:
“In Louisiana we have had success over the last six years in bringing more jobs and more opportunity to the state. Louisiana has now set state records for the number of people working, total population, and per-capita income levels. But, even as new businesses move here from other states, the backbone of our state is businesses like Duck Commander.”
This is undoubtedly going to be a very special episode, and many Duck Dynasty fans cannot wait to tune in. Will you be watching season 6 of the show? Do you think the show will do well this season?
