Far Cry 4 Not Coming to Wii U According to Official Announcement from Ubisoft
Far Cry 4 is not coming to Wii U according to the official reveal from Ubisoft this morning. Ending months of rumors on the setting of the next entry in the Far Cry series, it is official that Far Cry 4 will be set in Kyrat, a region of the Himalayas taking the series out of its verdant tropical jungle heritage. The platforms announced in the official press release include the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC. One place Far Cry 4 will not be coming to is Nintendo’s struggling Wii U console.
To date, only one Far Cry game has ever been released on a Nintendo platform: Far Cry Vengeance which is a port of a remake on the original Far Cry Instincts for the original Xbox. The exclusion of the Wii U is not really a surprise as the family friendly console does not really seem like match for Ubisoft, but at this point Nintendo is in a very bad position and a release of Far Cry 4 on the Wii U would undoubtedly help the console.
The full press release is below:
