‘Sad Batman’ Meme Goes Viral, Here Is Ben Affleck As Batman At His Saddest
On Tuesday, Batman Vs. Superman director Zack Snyder took to his Twitter account to release the first image of Ben Affleck in the latest version of the Batman costume, standing next to yet another design of the Batmobile.
By the end of the day Wednesday, a new internet meme went viral — “Sad Batman.”
Why “sad?” Well, you’d really have to ask Batman about that. But the grim, black-and-white image and Affleck’s slump-shouldered, mopey body-language probably has something to do with the general feeling out there on line that this new version of Batman is pretty down in the dumps. Something’s really got Batman bummed out.

Naturally, the good folks on the internet, who all seem to have way too much time on their hands, immediately took to Photoshopping the very sad Ben Affleck Batman into every setting they could think of. Here are just a few examples of Sad Batman. Read ’em and weep.

This is about the saddest Batman we’ve ever seen. We’re sad just looking at Batman here.
———
Not sure why he’s sad here. Batman, of all people, can afford a new Xbox.
———
If you’re sad on this occasion, Batman, you’ve really got a rough ride ahead of you.
———
Everyone’s inside watching the game, Batman’s stuck out here…
———
See, in an earlier, really terrible movie, Affleck played Daredevil, who’s sort of a Marvel Comics version of Batman, who’s a DC Comics character, and — oh, never mind…
———
Maybe the waitress turned him down for a date?

Finally, who’s sadder? Sad Batman or Sad Kanye? Or the cast of Star Wars 7?
