Solange Knowles Mad At Jay Z Because Of Relationship With Rachel Roy [Report]
Ever since the now infamous elevator footage that shows Solange Knowles — sister of Beyonce — kicking and punching her brother-in-law, Jay Z, surfaced people have been wondering why the incident occurred in the first place. Now we have some insight. Turns out Solange is upset at the record mogul’s close relationship with Rachel Roy.
Several outlets have reported that Solange got into a fight with Rachel before the shocking images in the video that was released by TMZ.
A source told E! News, “Solange and Rachel Roy got into an argument prior to the elevator incident.”
Roy is a fashion designer, who has known the Knowles’ for many years and used to be married to Jay Z’s former partner, Dame Dash, who posted a photo on Instagram, captioning it: “I am actually impressed with her independent spirit, she seems like a fighter.”
“Jay said something inappropriate to Beyoncé and Solange, and she snapped,” a source told People. “When they got in the elevator, it escalated quickly the way family tensions can. It got exceptionally heated the way family moments can.”
Solange Knowles is also very protective of her sister and if she is mad at her brother-in-law, it’s probably for a good reason.
Many (especially female) news anchors and guests on cable news programs have mentioned that a fight like the one we saw on the TMZ video could be because of another woman.
Solange is seen viciously kicking and punching Jay Z in the May 5 video, while wife Beyonce seemingly doesn’t intervene while her husband is being attacked.

The video starts innocently enough and shows, who we believe are Beyoncé, Jay Z, Solange and a bodyguard enter the elevator at the Standard Hotel.
No comment has been offered by reps of Beyoncé, Jay Z, or Solange Knowles and the speculation and headlines continue regarding the bizarre situation.
Slonage went to Costa Rica with Beyoncé, for Kelly Rowland’s wedding, however, Knolwes deleted all photos of her and her sister on her Instagram account and Beyoncé was posting a prayer asking God for help with her relationships.
In more bizarre developments, Solange and Jay Z were reportedly seen shopping for jewelry together, according to TMZ and on Monday — the day the story broke — Beyoncé and her husband showed up courtside at a basketball game.
And so the saga continues, and we still don’t really know the answer to the question everyone is asking. Why was Solange Knowles so mad at Jay Z that she viciously attacked him in a hotel elevator?
