Mary-Kate Olsen recently got engaged to Olivier Sarkozy, and as a fashion designer, you would think that the star would have wedding dresses on the brain. Well, that doesn’t seem to be the case for this Olsen sister.
According to Vogue UK , Mary-Kate doesn’t seem to be ready to talk wedding dresses or wedding plans in general, just yet.
“I’m, like, not even there yet,” she said. “I think it may be a matter of getting five or six, or making two or three and being stressed out. That seems kind of far away. We’ll take one step at a time.”
Making two or three wedding dresses seems like quite the project, at least for the average person. It’s hard enough even thinking of shopping for that dream dress! At least Mary-Kate has experience in designing wedding dresses. According to WWD, Mary-Kate and sister Ashley recently designed a wedding dress for one of their friends.
Well, her engagement isn’t the only thing on Mary-Kate’s mind. According to E! News , after launching their fashion line, The Row , almost a decade ago, the Olsen twins have finally opened their first store in Melrose Place in their hometown of Los Angeles.
“We’ve always wanted our own store; it’s always been part of the plan,” Mary-Kate said according to Vogue UK . “It was a toss-up between New York and LA, and when this space became available, we jumped on it. It used to be a hair salon and my sister and I used to come here, so we were very aware of the space. We are from here, and The Row started here, so it was all very appropriate.”
The twins told WDD that they are happy they decided to open up their first store in Los Angeles because they believe it will give them time to learn and grow. “Starting in New York seemed pretty aggressive. This gives us some time to learn. I’m sure there’s many mistakes we made, so we will learn from those as well,” said Mary-Kate.
Ashley Olsen continued on to explain that this brand and store is their “baby.”
“This is something that we have nurtured and will continue to nurture. That is the way we feel about all our brands, but this one has always been a labor of love, and the space also reflects that.”
With the opening of their new store, it’s no wonder that Mary-Kate isn’t stressing out about her wedding dress at this point in time. After all, Mary-Kate and Olivier Sarkozy only announced their engagement this March, so she still has some time to worry about wedding dresses.
