Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, And Mark Hamill To Start Star Wars 7 Filming In Abu Dhabi Desert
Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill may start off their Star Wars 7 filming schedule by heading out to the Abu Dhabi desert.
In a related report by The Inquisitr, after Disney CEO Robert Iger confirmed that three Star Wars spinoff movies will be produced, rumors started that the planned Boba Fett movie may feature the famous bounty hunter as a hero rather than a bad guy. There’s also the possibility of having a Han Solo movie that would focus on his younger years.
In preparing for filming Star Wars 7, Carrie Fisher has apparently been working with a trainer to get back into shape for the role as Princess Leia. She’s lost 40 pound, is said to be looking great, and she’s even making jokes about how she went on a sugar binge right before the exercise began in earnest. But as part of the conversation Carrie Fisher’s drug addiction was revealed:
“We did cocaine on the set of [The] Empire [Strikes Back], in the ice planet. I didn’t even like coke that much. It was just a case of getting on whatever train I need to take to get high. Slowly I realised I was doing a bit more drugs than other people and losing my choice in the matter.”
And there’s any doubt on whether she is doing better, Carrie Fisher managed to choke out William Shatner on camera, which ends the whole Star Wars VS Star Trek debate as to which is better.
Star Wars 7 Filming Schedule Starts In A Desert Not So Far, Far Away…
Tomorrow, May 12, 2014, the film shooting will start in the Abu Dhabi desert. The sets are said to be close to completion and that means Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and all the other Star Wars 7 cast members will be heading out into the heat until the end of the month. Security for the Star War 7 filming site is said to be very high, with government agents during back any curious tourists. There’s also good reason for the caution since several vehicles full of explosives rolled out onto the set in order to provide all the action effects we’re used to in Star Wars movies.
Reports about the sets say that a blast crater has been created, which may be the scene of a crash landing or feature a major battle. Other descriptions mention shuttle-like spacecraft, an alien house, an old-looking market, and an imposing large tower hanging over it all.
There’s also mention of 15 jet-powered buggies being used during filming, and already several unnamed cast members have been spending days learning to drive these landspeeders. While it’s possible Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, and Mark Hamill were among them, other new actors like Adam Driver and Max von Sydow may be featured in this case.
