‘Duck Dynasty’ Stars Appearing At Bloomsburg Fair: Another Boycott Starting?
The cast of Duck Dynasty is being offered speaking engagements left and right lately. The Robertsons have been booking appearances at fairs around the country, their latest being the Bloomsburg Fair in Pennsylvania. The news was confirmed on the fair’s official Facebook page on Monday morning and has already been met with some criticism. Quite a few people aren’t looking forward to seeing the Robertsons, many even saying that they won’t attend the fair on whatever day the Duck Dynasty stars will be there.
As previously reported by Inquisitr.com, some people are outraged by the fact that fair organizers are asking the Robertsons to be special guests, mainly because of the controversy surrounding patriarch, Phil Robertson. In some instances, people are calling for fair officials to retract their offers — but so far, nothing has changed. In fact, the Robertsons seem to be landing even more gigs.
Duck Dynasty cast members Willie and Korie Robertson will be appearing at the Bloomsburg Fair on Sunday, September 21, 2014. While Phil Robertson won’t be in attendance, some people want nothing to do with any of the reality television stars. Of course there are always going to be people upset about something so it’s not surprising that some are voicing their disapproval.
According to DailyItem.com, Willie and Korie will host a Q&A session and then ZZ Top will perform. Coincidentally (or not), the Duck Dynasty theme song is “Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top. It’s unknown if fair organizers planned things out this way but tickets to both appearances will be on sale sometime in July or August.
According to the report:
“The Robertsons will discuss their show, their daily lives and will also take questions from fans, said Carey Howell, superintendent of the grandstand. The talk format is something ‘more and more fairs are looking into, rather than just having bands,’ he said.”
Duck Dynasty family members likely don’t do these appearances for the money (they make plenty of money between their duck call business and their A&E reality show) but because they want to get out and meet their fans. Some people actually like what the Robertsons have to say — and getting close to these reality celebs at a fair is kind of cool.
It’s hard to please everyone but not everyone has to get tickets to see Willie and Korie. If you want to attend the fair but don’t want to have anything to do with the Robertsons, that’s fine. Naturally there are extremists who won’t step a toe onto fair grounds because the Robertsons have been invited to speak… but the majority of people either don’t care or will go about their plans without being phased. Would you want to see the Robertsons?
