Hugh Jackman could end up shooting X-Men: Apocalypse and the next Wolverine standalone movie back-to-back. In other words, the actor is going to stay insanely muscular for quite some time.
Although the X-Men: Days of Future Past star recently revealed that he’ll hang up the claws after the next Wolverine sequel, he still has the next X-Men movie currently cooking on the Hollywood burner. This means there’s a very strong possibility that Hugh Jackman could shoot both of these films back-to-back .
This might sound like an impossible mission, but Jackman seems more than willing to tackle the projects in this fashion. During the actor’s recent chat with Collider , he revealed that keeping up his physique wouldn’t require too much work if he could shoot both films during the same period.
Hugh Jackman told the website :
In a weird way that has crossed my mind if that’s the way things play out, because physically, even though I was complaining about it because I found out about [‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’] a month before I finished ‘The Wolverine,’ so I was already planning on my cheat meals. It’s much easier because it’s tough to get there, physically, but once you’re there, it’s easier to maintain it.”
While nothing about Hugh Jackman shooting these projects back-to-back is officially set in stone just yet, producer Lauren Shuler Donner and Hutch Parker are trying their best to make it a reality .
“We announced Apocalypse to come out in 2016, so that means we have to shoot next summer. And then we’d have to shoot our new Wolverine movie either before or after that. I think after because it will come out after,” Donner explained to Collider .
Parker added, “And as much as you have an ambition for these things, it is, as you said about [Hugh Jackman], getting a script that everybody feels is ready and right. Because that is the foundation on which everything is built. So I think the goal will be ‘Apocalypse’ for 2016, which means at the latest [filming begins] in summer 2015, and then the same thing with ‘Wolverine,’ either before or after, but based on the script.”
Of course, these decisions are likely based on how well Days of Future Past performs at the box office. Although the movie is still on-track to make a tidy sum of cash during its theatrical run, it’s still unclear how much the Bryan Singer scandal will affect the film’s performance.
What do you think about Hugh Jackman possibly shooting X-Men: Apocalypse and the next Wolverine flick back-to-back?
