Jennifer Lopez has reportedly recruited one of music’s biggest rising stars for her upcoming album.
It would seem that everyone and their creepy uncle wants to work with Australian rapper Iggy Azalea these days. Since Jennifer Lopez understands that guest appearances from ridiculously popular recording artists ultimately leads to more album sales, she asked Azalea to lend a helping hand with her latest endeavor.
According to Digital Spy , Iggy discussed her collaboration with Jennifer Lopez during a recent interview with Ryan Seacrest . The rapper said that she was having a very hard time not spilling the proverbial beans to her fans and followers.
“She actually only asked me about two weeks ago, so I didn’t have to keep the secret for too long. When I opened on tour for Beyoncé I had to keep that under wraps for months, which really killed me. So this is a breeze,” Azalea said.
The rapper added, “I love her. I definitely used to sit in my bedroom as a young girl and lip-sync Jennifer Lopez songs, so it’s very cool to have a song with her on her album.”
Folks who are a little skeptical about the team-up don’t have to take Iggy at her word. Perez Hilton points out that Jennifer Lopez also confirmed the collaboration during her chat with Richmond’s Q94 . In short: The rapper will definitely appear on Lopez’s latest album AKA .
In addition to Iggy Azalea , Jennifer Lopez’s new record will probably feature a few tunes about her divorce from Marc Anthony. The American Idol judge told People that the breakup was definitely a very dark period of her life .
“I went through a tremendous low. But I wouldn’t change anything [about my past] because it made me who I am. As women we can sometimes give ourselves away. I was certainly guilty of that for some time. Now I realize I am good on my own, so now I can share my life with somebody,” Lopez explained to the publication.
She added, “I just feel like I went through a real growth spurt as a human being [when I became a mother]. Having my babies allowed me to realize what real unconditional love was.”
