Taylor Swift On Selena Gomez Friendship: ‘The Longest One I Think Either of Us Have Had’
Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift’s relationship is rock solid.
In fact, the Red singer recently told E News! “It’s been the longest [friendship] I think either of us have had really.”
Despite months of ridiculous reporting by the usual gossip media suspects that essentially made up claims, sources and inane storylines, Gomez and Swift made jaws drop when the Latina posted a video of the pair having the time of the lives at the recent MET Gala in NYC.
“During… Sometimes you wanna just be you with someone who knows all your secrets,” the Spring Breakers actress’ clip caption read.
Selena and Taylor were rumored to have pulled away from each other when the “Come & Get It” songstress started spending time with on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber, and reportedly rekindled their relationship.
The rumors appeared to have legs when Selena abruptly deleted everyone she knew from her Instagram account, kicking off with Kylie and Kendall Jenner after she hung out with the sisters over the first weekend of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival.
But, as Selena also unfollowed Reese Witherspoon but was later seen in an Instagram snap with the older actress at the MET ball, it seems reports that Gomez’s Instagram purge were about her “reevaluating” certain friendships were on the money.
As for lingering rumors about what caused the rift with the Jenners, initial claims that Bieber allegedly flirted with Kylie may also need reevaluating after he was spotted with new gal pal Yovanna Ventura — an 18-year-old high school student and aspiring model.
And in between all that drama, it seems Taylor has been there for Selena all along.
Elaborating, Swift explained to E!: “When your life changes and you become thrust into this really strange whirlwind where what your life is — is — different from what other people think your life is, and your life is commented on and your life is written about and it’s fictionalized and all that.”
“Both of us have kind of stuck it out and hung in there through all the different changes we’ve gone through, and I think that longevity is something you really can find very precious and rare in friendships.”
How different and real that sounds compared to all that blah about Selena supposedly being “bored” of painting and baking with Taylor.
So, to recap, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are still friends and sound like they always will be.
