Kristen Bell Says ‘Frozen’ Went Through ‘Big Metamorphoses’ Before Hitting Theaters
Kristen Bell is still reeling from the success of the Disney animated flick Frozen. However, the original script apparently looked a little different from the finished product.
Disney certainly scored a major hit with the family-friendly endeavor last year. The movie ended up making an astounding $1.1 billion worldwide, a figure that doesn’t include the cash generated by the film’s extremely popular soundtrack. Although there’s no talk of a sequel just yet, there’s a chance Disney could adapt the motion picture for Broadway.
However, Kristen Bell said the original version of the story was a bit different from the one people saw in theaters. During her recent interview on Today, the Frozen star explained that everyone involved with the project was completely dedicated to delivering a truly remarkable cinematic experience.
“What’s funny is the original script wasn’t anything like this. It went through a lot of big metamorphoses… The whole team behind it were so committed to making something different and modern. And they were committed to making it not about romantic love,” Kristen Bell explained.
She added, “They wanted it to be about this really relevant battle between love and fear… In the end, it just kind of blossomed into this really beautiful project.”
Although Bell believes that cartoons do a good job spreading a positive message about love, she feels they’re not exactly realistic when it comes to marriage. Instead of tying the knot with someone you’ve just met, Bell pointed out that it takes a fair amount of time to get to know your partner.
“It’s about the love of family, and also a really nice tip of the hat to… okay, all of the old cartoons were amazing, but you don’t meet someone on the street and marry them the next day,” Kristen said about Frozen.
Disney’s latest foray into the world of animated entertainment isn’t the only thing Kristen Bell is dishing about these days. Perez Hilton recently discussed the ending of Gossip Girl with the actress. Warning: If you’re still working your way through the series, then you might want to skip over this part of the article.
Kristen Bell explained:
“I’m sure that it would’ve been really cool had I got to play some vicious part and actually come out as Gossip Girl, but I think it was appropriate for one of the main cast members to have surfaced as Gossip Girl. I don’t know that I ever forethought it being Dan, though! That was a bit of a shocker!”
Loyal fans who need a Kristen Bell fix ASAP can pick up a copy of Veronica Mars on DVD and Blu-ray. The film hit home video earlier this week.
