Michelle’s tweet comes one day after her husband, President Barack Obama, announced that the US would be sending a team to Nigeria to assist in finding the missing girls. According to the Huffington Post , Barack Obama said Tuesday that the US will do everything it can to help find the missing girls and bring them home after being kidnapped by the Islamist extremist group, the Boko Haram.
“In the short term, our goal is obviously to help the international community, and the Nigerian government, as a team to do everything we can to recover these young ladies,” Obama reportedly said in an interview with NBC’s Today . “But we’re also going to have to deal with the broader problem of organizations like this that… can cause such havoc in people’s day-to-day lives,” said Obama referring to the Boko Haram.
According to an earlier report by The Inquisitr , the families of the missing girls believe that the government isn’t doing enough to help find the missing school girls who are all between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age. “All we want from the government is to help us bring our children back,” said one father as he wept.
