‘Star Wars Episode VII’ Title Revealed [Report]
According to a report on the website Ain’t It Cool.com, Star Wars Episode VII has a working title, and the news couldn’t come soon enough for Star Wars fans.
Harry, who wrote the piece reporting on the much anticipated title, claims that he has been sitting on the story for months. He decided to make his knowledge public after a different source came forward and confirmed the information he received several months ago from somebody in director J.J. Abrams’ camp, which may mean that Disney is getting closer to announcing it.
“As I’ve said – getting confirmation has been a bitch. I know lots of people in JJ’s camp – including JJ… but when I put the title to JJ… he never even responded. That alone was suspicious. But my original source had told me back in January that Abu Dhabi was a location.”
Drumroll…the new Star Wars Episode VII movie is expected to be called The Ancient Fear. There it is. Not only that, the website claims that the title has to do with veteran actor Max von Sydow’s villainous character.
Following the recent big news about the casting of the new installment, fans kept asking, “What is the movie actually going to be called, as all previous episodes have a name that goes with the number for each chapter?”
The latest news comes as Star Wars Episode VII production began at the legendary Pinewood Studios in London, even before Abrams and Disney announced who would actually be cast.
Constant rumors followed the news that Disney would continue the popular and mega successful franchise in partnership with Lucasfilm. Dates were changed from the traditional May release (as the schedule was too tight to allow for that) to December of 2015, and last week, a firm cast was announced for Star Wars Episode VII.
Much like George Lucas did with the original films, Abrams is using a combination of fresh — at times unknown — faces and bringing back the veterans Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), and Harrison Ford (Han Solo), plus R2 D2, C3PO, and Chewbacca to complete what fans hope will be an exciting continuation of the saga.
Star Wars Episode VII takes place 30 years after the events in Return Of The Jedi and now it makes perfect sense that the original trio of heroes will return (maybe for the last time) to connect Episode VI to the new story. It has been reported that the new chapter doesn’t follow canon, and fans can expect a totally new plot come next December.
