Mariah Carey Ready To Divorce Nick Cannon, Did ‘White People Party Music’ Ruin Their Marriage?
Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon’s marriage is possibly on the rocks.
Instead of celebrating the fact that her new album is finally hitting retail shelves on May 27, Carey is facing rumors that her relationship with the comedian is falling apart. Nothing like a little celebrity gossip to rain on someone’s parade.
Here’s what’s going on: According to the folks at OK! magazine, Mariah Carey is extremely irritated with Cannon over his controversial album White People Party Music. If any of this stuff is true, then it’s possible that the record was simply the last straw.

“Mariah’d cut him loose right now. But she’s worried about him making a grab for a huge chunk of her $515 million fortune,” an anonymous source recently explained to the publication.
The insider added, “Nick feels burned that Mariah is ready to pull the plug. They have a pre-nup, but after Nick tells his side of the story Mariah will most likely settle with him financially and realize her once beautiful marriage has evaporated.”
The Inquisitr previously reported that Mariah Carey was not pleased with her husband after he donned “whiteface” to promote the aforementioned album on social media. According to a completely different batch of sources, the singer thought Cannon took things a little too far.
“Mariah is sick of Nick and his childish behavior. All hell broke loose between Mariah and Nick when he posted the picture — she told him to take it down, but he refused. Tensions are tough in the Carey-Cannon household, and Nick will not apologize,” someone told Showbiz Spy.
This probably isn’t the sort of headlines Mariah Carey wants to generate ahead of her new album’s release date. The former American Idol judge announced last week that her latest music endeavor Me. I Am Mariah… The Elusive Chanteuse — previously titled The Art of Letting Go — will finally arrive on May 27.
Carey described the record as a “Beyonce-style” release, though apparently nobody bothered to tell Mariah that she forgot all about the element of surprise. Regardless, fans are probably just happy that the singer is releasing the new songs after months of delays.
Do you believe that Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are heading towards a divorce? Were you offended by the comedian’s White People Party Music persona?
