Ed Sheeran is teaming up with another singer in the very near future.
The “I See Fire” singer is quite possibly one of the busiest guys in the music business at the moment. In addition to putting together his highly-anticipated sophomore album, Sheeran is helping out a handful of other folks with their own musical endeavors.
Shortly after Ed Sheeran and Demi Lovato teased their possible collaboration on Twitter, former Lizzie Maguire star Hilary Duff revealed that she’s also teaming up with the songwriter. According to MTV News , she’s just days away from recording a tune penned by Sheeran . The guy apparently has no plans to take a break anytime soon.
“I’m cutting an Ed Sheeran song next week, which I’m really excited about,” she told the outlet. Duff added that her new record should arrive “soon,” though she stopped short of giving fans a proper release date.
The singer continued, “It feels good to be in the studio. It feels good to be talking about my last few years — the high points and the low points. I really just want to be honest and be an open book for my fans to know where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing, how I feel and all that good stuff. So, I should have a single soon, and an album by the fall.”
Of course, Ed Sheeran is doing his part to spread the word about the upcoming album X . BBC News reports that Sheeran scheduled a “secret” show ahead of the record’s release, a gig he announced on Facebook last week. Since the performance is officially described as an intimate affair, seating was extremely limited.
“Didn’t even have a chance for tickets to Ed Sheeran’s Ipswich gig. Was basically pot luck if you were on Facebook at the right time,” one understandably irritated fan posted after the tickets disappeared. The show reportedly sold out in under ten minutes.
Those in attendance will no doubt get to hear some of Sheeran’s brand new tunes. The Inquisitr previously reported that the singer teamed up with folks like Pharrell Williams to give his new songs a slightly different sound from the stuff found on his acclaimed debut. However, Sheeran admitted he was a little skeptical about some of the material.
“I don’t really get jazz chords and this felt like one of them. Instinctively, I dismissed it, but I had a guitar in my hand and started playing that riff absent-mindedly. From that moment, I was playing that song and… we just pieced it all together,” Sheeran explained.
Are you surprised that Ed Sheeran wrote a song for Hilary Duff?
