John Legend Helped Propel My Career, Says Chrissy Teigen

John Legend helped propel wife and model Chrissy Teigen into the limelight.

Before you start screaming that Chrissy built a career on her own, it’s worth noting that this slice of info comes from Teigen herself. While she made a name for herself modeling swimsuits for Sports Illustrated, she admits that getting together with Legend definitely helped push things in a positive direction.

Teigen discussed her relationship with John Legend during a recent chat with the folks at Cosmopolitan. She also dropped a few details that many people might classify as too much information.

“I got so lucky that I met Brooklyn Decker and she [hooked me up with] Sports Illustrated. I got so lucky that I met John [Legend], who propelled my career. I’m not delusional: that definitely helped,” she told the publication.

After hooking up with Legend for the first time, the model said she let him do his own thing while on tour. However, it didn’t take very long for John to realize he had found someone extremely special. The couple eventually tied the knot in 2013, though they still manage to keep their romance alive.

“We’re by no means freaky-deaky, but let’s just say, we’re open to things. We’re very okay with PDA. When we go to a restaurant, he loves when I wear a dress, so he can do some upper-thigh rubbing,” she explained.

John Legend’s wife added, “We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first-class. We were under a blanket. We weren’t even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that.”

Of course, Legend also seems to thoroughly enjoy his relationship with Teigen. In fact, the singer previously admitted that he avoids penning sad songs so people won’t assume that there’s trouble brewing behind-the-scenes.

“If I write about relationships gone bad in the future, I worry that people will think my marriage has gone bad. Everyone is so focused on my relationship with my wife after writing a really romantic album, and it’s interesting to see if people will read things into everything I write,” John explained to the Daily Star.

Although spending your days and nights with a swimsuit model is the very definition of “cool” for some folks, John believes there’s another famous couple responsible for making marriage look absolutely fantastic.

“I like seeing [Beyonce and Jay Z] display their love for the whole world to see. It makes me feel like I’m cool being married. We can be married and cool at the same time,” John Legend said.

Any way you slice it, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen appear extremely happy together.
