Taylor Swift Hanging Out In New York While Writing New Album
Taylor Swift is so inspired by New York that she’s spending a lot of time in the city to record her upcoming album.
Although some websites would like you to believe that Swift headed to the Big Apple to get away from Selena Gomez, apparently the truth is less gossipy. As Calvin Blanco points out, the idea of Taylor moving across the country to get away from her former friend is nothing sort of “absurd.” Of course, when did that ever stop people from spreading rumors?
The truth about Taylor Swift and her adventures through New York arrived courtesy of Perez Hilton. While the celebrity gossip blogger has a knack for starting trouble, Hilton recently spoke to someone who is actually dispelling these recent reports. Imagine that.
The anonymous source explained:
“She is in New York because she’s working on her album. She’s putting one out soon but she’s still trying to write some more songs and she’s really inspired by New York. She feels very creative when she’s there, it’s inspiring her to create. It’s such a different head space than Nashville or LA, she loves all three places but right now New York is more her speed.”
Although Taylor Swift is working on a brand new collection of songs, it’s unclear when her fans will have them dancing around inside their stereos. Just Jared reports that Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley believes the record should drop in the very near future. Sorry, fans — that’s all the info you’re getting for the moment.
“I know Taylor’s got an album coming out pretty soon and she’d be amazing to collaborate with. She already has some really good collaborations, so you can’t go wrong with her,” Kelley recently told The Huffington Post.
Swift told Hollywood Life last year that she wanted to take her next album in a different direction. The country music darling didn’t elaborate on where she’s headed, but it’s definitely not a retread of her last musical endeavor.
“I’m so obsessed with where it is right now because I think, for me, the goal is that we start coming upon a sound that’s different from everything that we’ve done before, an identity to a new record — and having come upon that so early in the process is just really thrilling,” Swift explained.
She added, “And I mean, I’ve got a lot of time to write more, but it’s really looking promising so far. Like how many things I’ve got finished that I love, that I know I want on the record. It’s way ahead of schedule. So I’m really stoked for you to hear it.”
