Got Wood? With Competition Stiff, Pornhub Working Hard On Arbor Day Promotion
A well-known porn video sharing website is launching a rather ingenious Arbor Day campaign, “Pornhub Gives America Wood.”
Pornhub promises to plant one tree for every 100 videos watched. The only caveat? All videos viewed must be in the sites Big D…uh, let’s just say “gigantic tree” category.
The Canadian-based porn site started the “Pornhub Gives America Wood” Arbor Day campaign on April 25th. Arbor Day is celebrated in various countries throughout the world, however on different days. In the United States, all states have an official Arbor Day, but celebrate it at different times to coincide with optimal climatological conditions for planting trees. President Richard “Dick” Nixon proclaimed the last Friday in April as National Arbor Day in 1970.
On the sites official “Pornhub Gives America Wood” campaign page (SFW), the company promises to “…do what it does best and give America some serious wood…” The website adds, “”While you’re watching some nice pieces of ash, you’ll also be helping spruce America up! (Bushes are optional),”

Pornhub has pledged to plant 1 tree for every 100 videos watched. I have now single-handedly been responsible for a new National Forest.

Pornhub has a reputation for outlandish promotions and the like.
The porn site offered former NFL wide receiver Chad Ochocinco the appropriately odd sum of $69,000 to change his name to “Chad Seisnueve” in 2012. Ochocinco, now known as Chad Johnson (again) and playing for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, declined the offer
In 2013, Pornhub submitted a 30 second ad for the Super Bowl ad time to air a commercial. Not surprisingly, they were rejected,
At last count, over 1,347,300 videos had been viewed in the “gigantic tree” category which equates to 13,473 trees to be planted.
The company has not yet released any information about when or where the trees will be planted or what environmental organization will oversee the endeavor. However, in an AMA on Reddit last evening, a Pornhub representative, /u/Katie_Pornhub, said that the company was considering the Arbor Day Foundation, Trees for the Future, or American Forests.
Whether the “Pornhub Gives America Wood” promotion becomes an Arbor Day tradition remains to be seen. However, America, this year it’s all in your hands. So get a grip and help save the environrment. We’re pulling for you.
