Danica McKellar Breaks Rib During Dance Practice, DWTS Season In Jeopardy
Danica McKellar may be ending her run at Dancing With the Stars without ever being voted out.
The actress turned dancer suffered an injury during practice late this week, apparently breaking her rib. The 39-year-old actress tweeted about the injury, saying she was trying to pull through and asking fans to send prayers her way.
The injury came at a bad time for Danica. She and partner Valentin Chmerkovskiy have become front-runners this season, and earlier this year ended up one point shy of a perfect score.
Though an unlikely candidate when she started the show, which seems to favor athletes and celebrities with extensive dancing background, Danica has excelled and built up a strong group of voting fans.
But Danica McKellar says she loves dancing, which she picked up a few years ago.
“Back in 2006 I did a movie that had a tango scene in it, and for that month I did take intensive lessons for that project,” she said. “I loved the experience and had kept dancing as an on-again off-again hobby. I have always wished I could really take the time to focus on dancing and now this is really exciting for me to finally have that opportunity!”
So…I broke a rib in yesterday’s #DWTS rehearsal. Trying my best to pull thru and could use your prayers!! #wanttokeepdancing

Danica even promised fans that she would show some skin on the ballroom dancing competition.
“I think a given with this show,” she said. “I’m really glad that all the rehearsing is getting my body extra tone for the outfits.”
There was no word on whether Danica McKellar would be able to continue on Dancing With the Stars or whether the rib injury will put an end to her run.
