Michael Vick, Nike Partner Up Once Again in a 4 Year Deal

In a remarkable move, Nike, which ended Michael Vick’s contract in 2007 after he admitted to his involvement in a dogfighting ring, has re-signed the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback.

“We have re-signed Michael Vick as a Nike athlete,” spokesman Derek Kent said Friday. “Michael acknowledges his past mistakes. We do not condone those actions, but we support the positive changes he has made to better himself off the field.”

Vick, the 31-year-old gifted athlete, who at one point in time was the highest-paid player in the National Football League, spent 21 months in prison for his actions, leaving him in financial ruin upon his release in July of 2009.

In 2010 Vick was named the starting quarterback for the Eagles over Kevin Kolb.. He went on to dominate, throwing for 3,018 yards and 21 touchdowns over the course of the season. For his spectacular play in 2010,Michael Vick was named NFL’s Comeback Player of the year by the Associated Press.

At this time the financial details of the new four year pact – the third endorsement deal Vick has signed since his return to the NFL in 2009 – deal are unknown.
