Selena Gomez reportedly ‘unfollowed’ Kylie and Kendall Jenner on Instagram to clean up her life and get rid of “toxic” distractions, not because her on-off boyfriend Justin Bieber had a ‘fling’ with Kylie Jenner as a UK tabloid claimed.
Selena Gomez dumped Kylie and Kendall Jenner from her Instagram feed after hanging out at Coachella and other social events because she allegedly thinks their lifestyle is “toxic” — not because on-off beau Justin Bieber got too close to Kylie Jenner as a UK tabloid claimed.
So says TMZ , who go on to report the “ Come & and Get It ” songstress had an “epiphany” at the Indio, California, festival about her life and the kind of people she wants in it and decided it doesn’t include Kylie and Kendall Jenner.
It’s claimed Gomez is now focusing on her music career, the 21-year-old recently signed a new management deal with WME and Brillstein after releasing her parents from their roles as managers.
The new report is further proof that The Sun’s claim that Justin and Kylie had a fling is false .
It’s worth noting the tabloid is notorious for embellishments and is one of a number of high-profile tabloids criticized at the UK’s 2012 Leveson Inquiry on press abuse and ethics.
Citing sources close to Gomez, the new report alleges Selena took a long, hard look at the Jenners and no longer wants to be part of their alleged “booze and drugs” scene.
As a result it’s claimed Gomez “decided to cut out what she considers the biggest sources of negativity… Jenner girls included.”
The ellipsis in that line may suggest Selena’s 14-day rehab stint in January was either partly or wholly down to substance abuse, contrary to her rep’s statement.
Sources later told E! News the Latina entered an Arizona rehab to learn tools for “letting go” of her relationship with Bieber.
It was first reported on April 20 that Selena has ‘unfollowed’ the Jenners, within the same week that all three girls were seen partying together at Coachella during the first weekend.
Not content with just ‘unfollowing’ the reality TV sisters on Instagram, Gomez also deleted all pictures of herself and the Jenners at Coachella — except for one which included other gal pals. The 21-year-old also erased snaps of herself with Kylie and Kendall at Christian “King” Combs’ Sweet 16 bash .
On April 22, it was noticed that Selena was ‘following’ zero people on Instagram and had now unhitched from one-time best friend Taylor Swift, Ashley Benson, Vanessa Hudgens, Reese Witherspoon, Justin Bieber and Austin Mahone among others.
Obviously, it can’t be claimed that all of those just mentioned are living toxic lifestyles.
But what is stated and inferred clearly in the new report is that Gomez ditched the Jenners on Instagram and ended her relationship with them over their allegedly “toxic” partying, and her desire to clean up her life.
As for Bieber, the embattled Canadian posted a ‘throwback’ photo of himself and Gomez to his Instagram account Wednesday. The picture showed the couple on what appears to be a Malibu Beach outing with Justin’s step-siblings Jazmyn and Jaxon back in 2012.
Justin and Selena have been spotted together many times this year, despite calling time on their three-year relationship in November 2012.
Seen in Texas this March, Miami in April, then at Coachella two weeks ago, the couple were reported to be “inseparable” at the festival.

While the pair are named in a number of gossip reports mostly accusing Justin of “bailing” on their relationship and Selena of being a “train wreck,” all of these rumors originate from gossip sites or tabloid outlets that provide no physical, evidential basis for their claims.
Following Gomez’s recent Instagram post of a photo taken during an Easter Sunday church service given by Pastor Judah Smith, it’s now claimed the actress-singer is “going to church almost daily.”
While Gomez does not follow the Jenners or Swift on any social network, she is still following Bieber and vice versa on Twitter.
