Christina Aguilera Agrees To Second Season Of “The Voice”

Christina Aguilera will be returning for a new season of NBC’s hit TV show The Voice. The announcement was made official by the network on Thursday.

According to Paul Telegdy, executive vice president for Alternative Programming at NBC and Universal Media Studios:

“Our fantastic coaches were integral to the tremendous success of ‘The Voice’ this year and we are thrilled that they are all returning.”

The programs other coaches include Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

The network had banked on Aguilera’s “star” when they agreed to pay her $225,000 per episode this season, far exceed each male judges salary of $75,000 per show.

While Aguilera was the highest paid coach/judge it was Adam Levine apprentice Javier Colon who won Season 1 of The Voice. Colon who will tour with his fellow runner-ups this July.

The new season of the show is expected to begin after the NFL Super Bowl in February 2012.
