Former teen idol Aaron Carter was- as much we knew- friends with pop legend Michael Jackson.
Jackson was known to befriend young superstars throughout his career and had a close relationship with actor Corey Feldman in the 80’s. But Carter has made a new claim that casts further doubt on the appropriateness of Jackson’s friendships with minors- specifically stating that the elder star dealt cocaine to him when he was a teen.
Carter, who went to rehab earlier this year for substance abuse, says that Jackson’s actions “hurt” him:
“I miss Michael,” he said. “I have spent such incredible times with him. I did things with him that nobody else did… But I was also troubled about what he did to me.”
Carter continued:
Asked whether the King of Pop provided him with alcohol, Aaron said yes, going into detail.
“Yes, he gave me wine. I mean, I could have refused, but I was 15.’ As for drugs? He gave me cocaine. I felt weird about that and other stuff… We spoke afterwards, hours and hours, on the phone. I admired Michael, but his behavior bothered me a lot.”
Carter made no other claims about Jackson other than the statements about cocaine and alcohol.
