Kenya Moore opened up to PEOPLE magazine about the widely reported catfight between her and her Real Housewives of Atlanta co-star, Porsha William, that took place during a reunion taping, which aired on Bravo on Sunday evening.
In an official statement regarding the less-than-ladylike altercation in front of the cameras, Moore said:
There are many inflammatory statements made by cast members to and about each other particularly during the reunion tapings. Many have made untrue, denigrating, disparaging, and inflammatory statements against me in an attempt to provoke me, but I have never reacted in a violent way. If people get so angry that they lose control and admittedly ‘black out’ and resort to violence, those persons must be held responsible for their actions.
Moore also opened up during the candid interview about the fact that she had been physically abused for years by an ex-boyfriend. She shared the following about that abusive relationship and the steps she took to protect herself:
After being repeatedly attacked by an abusive boyfriend at the age of 17, if someone puts their hands on me, I will not just let it go. With that said, I sought self-defense training developed for the Israeli military. I’ve also been trained in weapons. I can take someone down in three moves. It took discipline for me to not respond in kind.
Following the catfight between Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams , the former called 911 to report the fact that she had been attacked. Porsha turned herself into the police on Thursday and was charged with battery.
Porsha Williams’ attorney, released the following statement:
“Although the claim is unfounded, Ms. Williams is fully cooperating with investigators and looks forward to clearing her name.”
It remains to be seen what punishment will be given to Porsha Williams for her attack on Kenya Moore . What is for sure is that catfights like these are great for the ratings, so regardless of the brawl, the network won’t be too sorry that it took place on camera.
