Alexis Bledel: Could ‘Gilmore Girls’ Movie Be In The Works?
Alexis Bledel is nearly seven years removed from her ending on the fan-favorite Gilmore Girls, but signs point to a possible movie about the Stars Hollow bunch in the future.
Fans have been clamoring for some type of Gilmore Girls reunion since the show went off the air in 2007, though the stars Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham have moved on to other projects. Graham stars in Parenthood, while Bledel has had stints on ER and Mad Men.
But now signs point to a possible reunion for the popular CW show. In a recent chat on Reddit, Lauren Graham revealed that she’s been in touch with some of the people who put the show together.
When asked about her off-screen relationship with Bledel, Graham revealed a bit more, replying, “Love her, we’ll always have a special bond. Saw her in NY not too long ago. I had a nice lunch with TV mom Kelly [Bishop] and [show creator] Amy [Sherman-Palladino] as well.”
While Graham didn’t reveal the nature of her meeting with Amy Sherman-Palladino, she did admit that she would be up for a movie reunion — if the circumstances were right.
“I appreciate how many have asked,” she wrote. “That character was so special – I wonder what happens to her too! Yes, IF a movie version could be as good as we’d all want it to be, I’d love to play that character again.”
Alexis Bledel hasn’t addressed the rumors much, at least not lately. Back in 2010, she reunited with Lauren Graham for an Entertainment Weekly interview in which both stars addressed the idea of a movie. Graham noted that no actual talks had taken place.
“We have no official, or we’ve heard no official plans to make a movie,” Bledel added with a shrug.
If there is to be a Gilmore Girls reunion movie, Alexis Bledel might have to plan carefully. The 31-year-old actress recently announced that she and Mad Men co-star Vincent Kartheiser are planning to get married.
