Ariana Grande Is The Music Business Association’s Breakthrough Artist Of The Year
Ariana Grande certainly has plenty to sing about these days.
Not only is the singer preparing to unleash her follow-up to Yours Truly, Grande is also taking home a very special honor next month. The folks over at the Music Business Association recently declared that Ariana is the Breakthrough Artist of the Year. She’ll collect the award during a ceremony in Los Angeles on May 8.
According to Billboard, Ariana Grande is receiving the aforementioned trophy for the success she’s enjoyed in the music biz as of late. The website reports that her debut album and the double-platinum single “The Way” ultimately caught the attention of those who run the organization.
The folks at Starpulse point out that Emeli Sande, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, and Carrie Underwood previously received the Breakthrough Artist of the Year award. Considering these artists are enjoying very solid careers at the moment, this definitely bodes well for Grande’s musical future.
The Music Business Association president James Donio explained that he was extremely impressed with Grande’s abilities in front of the camera and behind the microphone. All of this crazy talent essentially helped Ariana take home the aforementioned honor.
“While Nickelodeon fans have known her for years from her roles on hit TV shows ‘Victorious’ and ‘Sam & Cat,’ she exploded into the music world this year with her stunning debut album. Our recognition just underscores her potential for even greater success in the years ahead,” Donio added.
Of course, the multi-talented singer is also quite excited about receiving the award. To express her ceaseless delight at the news, Ariana Grande issued a statement of her very own.
The singer explained:
“Music has always been my first love, so receiving this Award is a true honor for me. I’ve been pursuing a career as a singer since I was eight, and it’s a great feeling to know that the industry has embraced me with open arms. I’d like to thank everyone at Music Biz and, of course, my fans, and I can’t wait to get back in the studio and do this all over again!”
In addition to dancing around the room with unbridled glee because of the recent honor, Grande fans have something mysterious looming on the horizon. The singer recently posted a cryptic message on Twitter that suggested a surprise is hanging out just around the corner.
