Gwyneth Paltrow Has A ‘Stick Up Her Rear End,’ Says Joan Rivers

Gwyneth Paltrow apparently doesn’t like it when you criticize her appearance.

Despite starting out as the toast of Hollywood, it didn’t take long for the Iron Man star to become one of the most hated celebrities on the planet. She and Anne Hathaway probably have a lot to talk about these days. Wherever they go, negative press seems to follow.

One person who clearly has a problem with Gwyneth Paltrow is Fashion Police co-host Joan Rivers. The comedian recently sat down for a chat with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live, an interview that ultimately found Rivers taking quite a few shots at Paltrow. She even managed to work in a Hellen Keller joke.

When asked which celebrity was the absolute worst when it came to a little harmless ribbing, Rivers quickly tossed out Gwyneth’s name. Judging from her comments, it’s clear that the comedian doesn’t think too highly of the actress.

“The worst criticism was, ugh, Gwyneth Paltrow. She came and yelled at us, buts she stood up. She can’t sit down ’cause she’s got a stick up her rear end,” the 80-year-old Fashion Police host told Cohen.

She added, “The world’s most beautiful woman voted by Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder. Not my favorite.”

The Huffington Post points out that this isn’t the first time Gwyneth Paltrow has come under fire from Rivers. When photographers caught up with the comedian at the Los Angeles International Airport after news of Paltrow’s separation from Chris Martin started making the rounds, she was quick to spew even more unfriendly remarks.

“Gwyneth is not my favorite person. Maybe if she had eaten a little more, and wasn’t a vegetarian or a vegan, and wasn’t farting, it would’ve lasted,” Rivers said.

If Joan really hates Paltrow with a passion, then the feeling is certainly mutual. Gwyneth took a few shots at the comedian during her chat with Harper’s Bazaar last year. In short: The actress avoid plastic surgery because she doesn’t want to end up looking like her adversary.

“I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!” she explained to the publication.

Of course, getting slammed by Joan Rivers is almost like a badge of honor. When Jennifer Lawrence took a moment out of her busy scheduled to criticize Fashion Police, Rivers didn’t waste any time offering up her assessment of the actress.

“I love that she’s telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile, she has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican. Look at her posters. She doesn’t have a nose, she has two holes. She just has to learn, don’t talk if you’re doing it,” she said.
