Alongside Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning will be playing the character of Princess Aurora. When asked how her working relationship with Jolie was, Fanning said that she was amazed by Jolie’s attention to detail, pointing out the latter’s dedication to her character, from the villain’s attire to her mysterious personality.
Angelina Jolie’s 5-year-old daughter Vivienne will also have a role in the movie, playing a much younger princess Aurora.
There are other big names aside from Angelina Jolie that are set to appear on Maleficent. Juno Temple will appear in the movie as a green pixie, while Imelda Staunton (remember Dolores Umbridge?) will play the character of Knotgrass, a pink pixie. Miranda Richardson will also appear in the movie as Queen Ulla, Maleficent’s aunt. The screenplay for the movie was written by Linda Woolverton, the writing genius behind Disney classics such as Lion King and Beauty and the Beast.

The movie was directed by Robert Stromberg, one of the guys responsible for the mindblowing effects on Avatar. Expect a lot of sweet, sweet CG on Maleficent, thanks to Stromberg and a wonderful team of special effects directors.
Aside from Maleficent, Angelina Jolie is also set to reprise her role as Master Tigress in Kung Fu Panda 3, where comedian Jack Black is again expected to play the butt-kicking Po. Kung Fu Panda 3 will be released on 2015.
