‘Orange Is The New Black’ Season 2 Spoilers: Piper Finds Trouble, New Character Brings Drama
Orange is the New Black season 2 spoilers are heating up after Netflix released a new trailer for the popular prison drama, one that sheds some light on likely storylines in the new season.
The first season of the surprise Netflix hit ended with Piper beating character Tiffany ‘Pennsatucky’ Doggett (Taryn Manning) to a pulp, but the trailer shows Piper in solitary confinement, presumably because of the fight.
“I am prepared to behave like a model inmate and I feel I no longer pose a threat,” Piper says in the new trailer, in what sounds like a rehearsed speech.
Though the fate of Pennsatucky was left up the the air in the Season 1 finale, producers of Orange is the New Black slipped in a Season 2 spoiler when they announced that Taryn Manning was being upgraded to a series regular.
In fact, producers have said that Orange is the New Black will explore well beyond Piper in Season 2.
“It’s a true ensemble. In season two, we’ll see how Piper’s story continues, but the show also gets wider and deeper to tell the stories of even more of the women,” producer Taylor Schilling told People magazine.
There are more lineup changes on the way for Season 2. Lorraine Toussaint will be in a recurring role as Vee, who according to Deadline is a “long-time street tough who ran her own drug business, recruiting children to serve as runners.”
Some of the Orange is the New Black spoilers have already been announced. Laura Prepon, who plays Alex Vause, made it clear that she’s coming back to the series for good. Prepon reportedly hadn’t signed on as a series regular, but a set of officials photos released last month showed that not only will Vause be back, but it appears her role will be expanding.
In one of the pictures, Vause is seen with Piper in a non-prison setting, implying that it could either be a flashback scene or a flash-forward to show the women after their release.
Viewers will get to see if any of the Orange is the New Black spoilers come true on June 6, when the episodes will be released to Netflix in their entirety.
