Christina Hendricks Isn’t Extremely Interested In Having Kids

Christina Hendricks recently revealed that she and her husband aren’t terribly interested in having kids anytime soon.

Much to the disappointment of websites that spend 90 percent of their time covering celebrity pregnancies and baby bumps, the Mad Men alum doesn’t have children on her list of things to do in the near future. In fact, Hendricks explained she’s perfectly happy caring for her new puppy.

Christina revealed the big news during a recent conversation with the folks at Health magazine. Although the actress plays a mom on the small screen, this doesn’t necessarily mean she wants life to imitate art.

“It’s just very normal for people to say, ‘Well, when you guys have kids…’ And then when I say, ‘Actually, I don’t think we’re going to do that,’ people will say, ‘Oh, you say that now…’ It doesn’t bother me, though. And, you know, there’s a small chance I could change my mind,” Hendricks told the publication.

For the moment, Christina Hendricks and husband Geoffrey Arend are busy with their dog and respective careers. In her opinion, taking care of the new addition to their household is her idea of starting a family.

“People say, ‘Oh, that’s practice for parenting,’ but if it’s practice for anything it’s to be a mom to another puppy. We’ve decided that we are not really interested in having children,” she explained.

Now that Mad Men is coming to a close, Hendricks is beginning to think about what kind of role she wants to tackle next. The Inquisitr previously reported that she wouldn’t mind taking on another period piece, namely HBO’s Game of Thrones. However, she recently told Conan O’Brien that she hasn’t watched a single episode of the beloved series.

“One day, someone said, ‘What show would be fun?’ And I was just thinking about all those pelts and horns and wolves and horses — or whatever they have — and I said, ‘Game of Thrones’! I thought it would be fun to sort of get into that whole time period, and all the crazy costumes,” the actress explained.

Christina added, “And the next thing you know, everyone was like, ‘Christina wants to star in Game Of Thrones!’ I’d be thrilled. I’d be so lucky… I want to wear pelts and horns and ride around on horseback.”
