Kid Cudi Woos Michelle Trachtenberg And Coachella
On the heels of a bunch of rumors about a possible romance with Michelle Trachtenberg, Brooklyn-based rapper Kid Cudi tore the proverbial roof off of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival last night.
Cudi was the main performer on one of the outdoor stages, opposite Seattle indie-folk sextet The Head and The Heart. Both acts played their full sets despite stinging winds of up to 30 miles per hour, turning the entire Inland Empire’s Coachella Valley into a whirlwind tempest of nearly blinding dust.
As the winds began to pick up on Saturday evening, general stores and kiosks all across the festival grounds began selling out their supply of bandanas. While the gusts never hit the 35 mile mark that made last year’s Coachella an almost physical ordeal and shook the sound and lighting systems suspended over the two large outdoor stages, concert goers still wrapped themselves up like bedouins as the blue California sky grew hazy and dark and musicians battled to be heard above the shrieking dust gales.
But despite the less than ideal conditions, Kid Cudi was all smiles nevertheless as he took the main stage on Saturday night.
“Coachella,” Cudi yelled to the audience, as he opened his set. “This my first time here.” The Indio crowd roared as, at one point, Cudi jumped down to the field and ran behind the barricades singing with fans.
Kid Cudi’s high spirits at Coachella might have had something to do with another rumor that popped up earlier this week, about a possible new romance between himself and Gossip Girl and Buffy The Vampire Slayer alum Michelle Trachtenberg. According to several reports, they were photographed in a car together leaving the Chateau Marmont hotspot on Tuesday, prompting some folks to wonder if the two of them had become an item as of late.
In the past, Michelle Trachtenberg has been linked to Fall Out Boy frontman Pete Wentz, while Kid Cudi allegedly dated former child actress, bong-chucker, and noted lunatic Amanda Bynes.
Kid Cudi’s latest album, Satellite Flight: The Journey to Mother Moon was released February of this year, exclusively to digital retailers. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Additionally, Cudi has made a fairly successful jump to the acting world as of late, with a strong supporting role alongside Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul, in the feature film Need For Speed. Kid Cudi also recently announced he will be appearing in the upcoming film adaption of HBO’s Entourage.
