Does Katey Sagal Have Insider Information On How ‘Sons Of Anarchy’ Will End?
Gorgeous Katey Sagal, star of Sons of Anarchy, has led a dynamic acting career that exploded with the TV series Married With Children. The raunchy show, which ran from 1987 to 1997, covered the humdrum daily activities of a couple who were living unhappily-ever-after with, of course, their rotten teenaged children. Not a fan of the show myself, I nevertheless thought that Katey Sagal was way too good to be a part of that sitcom. Sagal has since then proven that she has much more to offer than the role of a bored and mean-spirited housewife. In 1999 Katey starred in the delightful family movie, Smart House, and went on to other well-known roles in shows such as Futurama and the current Sons of Anarchy.
It’s hard to believe that Katey Sagal is now 60 years old, when she doesn’t appear to have aged a day since the beginning of her career. In these times when celebrities turn to plastic surgery in the attempt to remain youthful, Katey Sagal turns to herself. At the FX premiere of Fargo in New York City, Katey talked with ABC News.“I take really good care of myself. I don’t smoke and I don’t drink. I sleep a lot, I just think it’s an inside job too. I think it’s attitude, a lot of it’s attitude. I try to have a good one.”
Since 2008, Katey Sagal has breathed life into the role of Gemma Teller Morrow in Sons of Anarchy. When speaking about whether or not she is sad to be going into the final season, Sagal says she’s not really thinking that far yet. “I’m just not thinking about that. I suppose it will get sad. This one I’m sure there will be sad moments, but it has been an amazing ride.”
Kurt Sutter, the creator of Sons, also happens to be the husband of Katey. Sagal says she loves working with her husband. “It’s pretty great. I think he’s quite brilliant, so it’s nice to have that other perspective of your mate, where you are able to just create something together and different than at home talking about kids and being in your married life,” Sagal said. “I find that fascinating and very sexy.”
So does her relationship with the creator mean she knows how the series will end? “No, no, no, he doesn’t tell me,” Katey said. I guess she will just have to stay tuned with the rest of us to find out the details as they unfold.
Katey Sagal is unsure where her career will go in the future. “I don’t know yet,” Sagal said. “I have been so blessed and so grateful to have had this job and the previous ones I’ve had.”
