The Last of Us PS4 port has been confirmed, almost by accident. It seems that Sony leaked a banner ad ahead of schedule on PSN, giving us indisputable evidence that The Inquisitr ‘s 2013 PlayStation 3 Game of the Year is coming to the PlayStation 4.
The banner ad on PSN gave us the official title as The Last of Us: Remastered , and promised the usual pre-order option as well as a Day One digital sale. Nothing else is known about the upcoming PlayStation 4 release, so we can’t offer a definite The Last of Us PS4 release date.
It seems a lot of games are getting teased in accidental ad leaks, including the recent announcement that Batman: Arkham Knight is coming to the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC this Fall. That ad leak may have forced Rocksteady to give us extra details possibly to stop the rumors and sate the fans’ appetite. Could Naughty Dog end up doing the same thing after the leak of the Last of Us PS4 version in Sony’s banner ad?
If you think about it, the Last of Us PS4 port was almost inevitable. It was the biggest PlayStation 3 game last year, actually managing to score higher than Grand Theft Auto 5 on Metacritic . Considering the almost stale nature of the zombie game genre, that’s an impressive feat. Apparently the addition of a top notch story and great voice acting gave Naughty Dog’s killer IP the edge it needed to outshine the likes of Dead Rising 3 , Left 4 Dead 2 , and Dead Island: Riptide .
The story of Joel and Ellie will now officially be seen on Sony’s current generation console, and nobody can deny it will happen. We have seen the PSN banner ad. The Last of Us PS4 port might not have been announced yet, but now it’s only a matter of time.
