“WWE is shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the passing of one of the most iconic WWE Superstars ever, The Ultimate Warrior. Warrior began his WWE career in 1987 and quickly went on to become one of the biggest stars in WWE history. Warrior became WWE Champion at WrestleMania VI, defeating Hulk Hogan in an epic encounter. We are grateful that just days ago, Warrior had the opportunity to take his rightful place in the WWE Hall of Fame and was also able to appear at WrestleMania 30 and Monday Night Raw to address his legions of fans. WWE sends its sincere condolences to Warrior’s family, friends and fans. Warrior was 54 and is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters.”
Shortly before the official announcement was made on WWE.com, Triple H tweeted his condolences.

Following the Ultimate Warrior’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame on Sunday, Warrior appeared on Monday night’s episode of RAW, where he addressed the WWE Universe and the Warrior Nation.
Throughout his career, Warrior has been the subject of many death rumors, particularly between his first two stints in the WWE. The change in Warrior’s physical appearance between those two runs with the company led to rumors that he had passed away, and that another wrestler had been cast in the role of The Ultimate Warrior. All previous death rumors surrounding The Ultimate Warrior were obviously false. With official confirmation from WWE, this time it appears that the news of Warrior’s passing is indeed true, and not part of any rumor or storyline.
Warrior leaves behind a wife and two daughters.
