Britney Spears Dissed By Blake Shelton At The ACM Awards
Blake Shelton, Voice mentor, gave his take on Britney Spears’ ability to perform, while he was on stage at the 49th ACM (Academy of Country Music) Awards on Sunday (April 6th), reports E! Online. He apparently is not a fan of Spears.
“If you don’t like live music, then you need to go down the block and see Britney Spears,” Shelton said of the pop singer’s music. This was said after his fellow co-host, Luke Bryan, said that there would be some great “live” performances throughout the Awards show.
At one point, Shelton, 37, even pumped his fist in the air and declared, “I got one,” according to ABC News. The phrase was in reference to reports earlier this year that Spears, 32, had been lip-synching her show.
Spears’ sister, Jamie Lynn was actually in the audience at the Awards, but her reaction was not captured and she has not made an official comment as of yet.
Spears, herself, also has not responded to the dig at her skills as a singer. Her 90-minute Vegas show, “Britney: Piece of Me,” however, has been drawing rave reviews. The Vegas show originally launched back in December and is still doing well and because of that, Spears is probably not too worried about Shelton’s comments.
Spears has signed on to perform 50 shows each in 2014 and 2015 at The AXIS Theater.
