John Legend Admits That He’s Not Much Of A ‘Crier’

John Legend songs might make you cry, but the singer typically doesn’t shed tears when he hears a sad tune on the radio.

The “All of Me” singer recently sat down for an informative chat with Ryan Seacrest. While discussing the time he made wife and Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Chrissy Teigen bawl like a baby, he admitted that he’s not the sort of guy who frequently turns on the waterworks.

“I’m not much of a crier. Everyone thinks I’m so emotional because of my songs!” John Legend revealed during the interview.

However, this doesn’t mean the singer-songwriter doesn’t have the power to make others burst into tears. Legend said Teigen definitely shed a few tears when she heard his tune “All of Me” for the very first time.

“I wrote it a couple of years ago. When I came home I was like, I wrote a really good song baby, I think you’re gonna love it and she started crying,” John explained.

He continued, “I knew it was gonna be a special song, I just had a feeling that a lot of people were gonna love it after her reaction. And then I sang it at my wedding and a lot of people have used it at their weddings.”

John Legend essentially said the same thing during his recent conversation with the folks over at Entertainment Tonight. He also discussed how he and Teigen manage to keep their relationship in working order despite spending so much time in the public eye.

“I think we’re both grounded, we’re both family people that you know our ideal night is still just sitting at home cooking and watching TV, and hanging out with the family. So I think when you don’t get too caught up in all the extra things, it’s easier to maintain a relationship,” the singer explained.

When he isn’t writing songs that make his wife burst into tears, he’s helping other folks bring their own creations to life. The Inquisitr previously reported that Legend recently helped One Direction singer Harry Styles with a project. However, it’s unclear when or where fans will get to hear the collaboration.

“We got together for a few hours and wrote what I think is a really lovely song. I’d love to write with him again as he is a very great guy and very talented. He has some really great lyrical ideas and is a very good songwriter,” Legend explained.
