Jon Cryer Planning Tell-All Memoir About His Life And Career
Jon Cryer is ready to share stories about his life and career with the world.
The Two and a Half Men star is reportedly in the process of penning a tell-all memoir that will tackle everything from his early days in Hollywood to his relationship with Charlie Sheen. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-of-yet-untitled book will hit shelves at some point in 2015.
Although it’s likely that Jon Cryer will touch on a number of topics that are sure to grab the attention of Two and a Half Men fans, it’s still unclear how much juicy info the actor will dish in his book. Since the sitcom played such a large role in his career, there’s no doubt in this writer’s mind that a significant chunk of the book will chronicle his experiences on the show.
Not surprisingly, Cryer’s statement about the book’s impending release was pretty humorous. Here’s what Jon said in the official press release:
“In these times of truly global crisis when fear is outracing hope, I think we can all be grateful that the guy who played Duckie in ‘Pretty in Pink’ is writing a book. It’ll be filled with just what you’d expect from me; juicy tidbits on international monetary policy, catty comments regarding agriculture in Central Asia and, of course, forbidden anecdotes about stamp collecting. And maybe I’ll talk about Charlie Sheen.”
Page Six explains that Jon Cryer’s memoir will hit bookshelves next year courtesy of the folks over at Penguin Random House. The website also remarks that the tell-all book should contain a number of stories that are both “fascinating” and “candid,” though not necessarily in that order.
In fact, New America Library says that Cryer “will open up about friendships and relationships, pay tribute to his mentors and offer readers a front-row seat as he reminisces about his life and experiences in showbiz over the last 30 years.” In other words, it’s a lot like the other memoirs currently on the market.
One topic of conversation that could pop up in the book is Duckie’s sexuality. The Inquisitr previously reported that Jon has denied that his Pretty in Pink character is homosexual, though co-star Molly Ringwald seems to disagree. This could have something to do with Cryer’s “gay vibe.”
“Well, obviously, I think… I think Jon has always been… there’s something, and I guess now you would call it ‘metrosexual.’ You know, he kind of had the gay vibe but is not gay,” the actress said in a recent interview.
