Muppets Most Wanted Movie Magic

If you are in need of 112 minutes of pure enjoyment and fun, then you should head to the theater to see Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted. This is the sequel to 2011’s The Muppets, which makes this the eighth theatrical film featuring these lovable furry critters.

The Muppets were created by Jim Henson back in 1955 and are known for their variety-style sketch comedy per Wikipedia.com. After the 2011 film was such a success, in March 2012, Walt Disney Pictures contacted James Bobin and Nicholas Stoller and worked out a deal for them to direct and write this sequel, Muppets Most Wanted, as noted by Wikipedia.com.

Jason Segel co-wrote and starred in the 2011 The Muppets. When he was asked if he wanted to participate in the sequel he declined. He said his goal was bring The Muppet characters to the limelight, which he did. So, the stars of Muppets Most Wanted includes Ricky Gervais as Dominic Badguy who poses as an agent for an international talent agency, Ty Burrell as Jean Pierre Napoleon who is a French Interpol inspector, and Tina Fey as Nadya, the Russian prison guard who is a huge fan of Kermit the Frog, per Wikipedia.com.

In the clever storyline of Muppets Most Wanted, we find the Muppets right where we left them at the end of the previous film. Dominic Badguy convinces them to do a world tour with him as their manager, as per Disney.com. Much to their pleasure the Muppets find themselves performing to sell-out audiences all over Europe, including such lavish spots as London, Berlin and Madrid. But, just in Muppet fashion, trouble seems to follow them as they travel overseas.

It isn’t long before the Muppets find themselves deep in trouble with the World’s Number One Criminal, Constantine, who just happens to look identical to Kermit, and Constantine’s sidekick, Dominic, who is referred to as Number Two. After all sorts of mayhem including thievery, stolen paintings, mistaken imprisonment, plots to steal the crown jewels, fabulous musical numbers, fights and rescues, proposals, a wedding and an interesting talent show, the movie ends in all of Muppet splendor.

Muppets Most Wanted was released in theaters on March 21 with a budget spent of $50 million, and as March 30, 2014 the box office grossed a total of $40,710,000 as reported by Wikipedia.com. It seems that Muppets Most Wanted will follow suit in the success of its predecessor.
