Anna Kournikova Has Never Met Julio Iglesias, Been Dating Son Enrique For 12 Years

Anna Kournikova, when she was one of the world’s best known women’s tennis players, was famous as much for her blonde, pin-up looks as for her forehand volley. In 2001 she met Enrique Iglesias, the pop singer better known for his Adonis-like appearance than for his vocal abilities. Though the couple have been an item ever since — quite a run for any entertainment industry romance — there’s one odd aspect to their relationship.

Anna Kournikova has never met her boyfriend’s dad.

Now, the father of Enrique Iglesias isn’t just any ordinary dad, sitting on the couch watching ball game with a beer in hand. Of course the de facto in-law former Biggest Loser coach Kournikova has never met is Julio Iglesias, the Spanish-born singer who in a 45-year carer has become one of the most successful entertainers of all time.

One would think that Anna Kournikova might want to meet her boyfriend’s pops if for no other reason than to check out his collection of gold records. The elder Iglesias has racked up 2,600 of them. But according to the 70-year-old crooner, in the 12 years his son has been together with the retired Russian tennis pro, he’s never brought Kournikova around the mansion to say hello.

“You know I have to tell the truth, I have never met Anna,” said the elder Iglesias in an interview with Britain’s Daily Mirror. “Yes, my wife, and my kids and his brothers have, but I have never met her, no, no, never.”

Of course, Enrique Iglesias may have a good reason for keeping Anna Kournikova away from his father — who takes the “Latin lover” role to a whole new level. In addition to his 300 million records sold, Julio Iglesias has reportedly bedded 3,000 women.

“My kids are very independent and it is difficult to see Enrique because he is all over the world,” said the aging Casanova. “But Anna is very beautiful. They have good taste my kids.”

He also described his son as “a clever guy and very charming.”

In 2011 Enrique Iglesias announced that he and Kournikova had married, and already divorced. But ay last report they were still romantically linked and presumably will remain so as long as the 38-year-old Enrique keep the 32-year-old Anna Kournikova away from his old man.
