Johnny Depp Confirms Engagement Wearing His ‘Chick’s Ring’

Looks like Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are definitely engaged. After speculation about the pair’s status, Depp confirmed his engagement to the 27-year-old star in a move that’s clearly unique and very “Depp-like.”

According to numerous reports Depp was cheeky during a Q&A session in Beijing to promote his new film Transcendence. On Monday, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor was asked if he was indeed engaged. Instead of giving a yes or no response, or opting not to comment on his relationship status, the eccentric actor responded the best way he knew how.

Of the engagement rumors Depp said, “The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway. Not very subtle.”

Depp was photographed wearing a pretty big rock, which is believed to be the engagement ring Depp gave to his The Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard. According to US Weekly a source told the publication that the ring that Depp gave his bride-to-be was “too big for her, so he started wearing it.”

Rumors of Johnny Depp’s engagement to Amber Heard started to circulate in January after a year and a half of officially dating.

As far as helping his love Amber Heard plan the wedding, don’t expect Depp to offer a helping hand if he doesn’t have to. Of planning a wedding, Depp said, “I think that I would be better at making women’s shoes than I would be at wedding planning, I can’t plan anything. I’m really bad at that stuff.” Guess we won’t be seeing Johnny Depp having any groomzilla moments.

The candid nature of Johnny Depp seems like a new leaf for the actor, who has spent the last couple of months quiet due to the split from his ex Vanessa Paradis. During an interview with Interview magazine, Depp gave his opinion on a range of hot topics. One of those topics was reality television and the fame that comes with those type of shows.

“People get famous for I-don’t-know-what. People have reality shows because they’re a Hollywood socialite, and these things become very successful. It is like watching a fire. You can’t take your eyes off of it.”

As far as his marriage to Amber Heard goes, this will be the second marriage for Depp. Prior, Johnny was wed to Lori Anne Allison for two years in the mid-80s. His longest running relationship was with the aforementioned French actress Vanessa Paradis, who he was with for fourteen years. The couple share two children together, Lily Rose, 14, and Jack who is 11-years-old.
