Selena Gomez Buys $3 Million Calabasas Home, How Far From Justin Bieber’s Old Place?
Selena Gomez is back in the news today for reasons, thankfully, which have nothing to do with Justin Bieber-related lawsuits and portly process servers bearing subpoenas.
According to TMZ, the starlet has just laid out around $3 million for a five-bedroom, 7,200 sq. ft. Calabasas, California, home “located minutes away from the Kardashian empire in Hidden Hills.”
The gossip site throws in an extra alleged tidbit and claims Gomez had few demands when shopping for properties, save one.
Apparently the 21-year-old said no way to The Oaks – which, until recently – was the gated Calabasas enclave that was host to Bieber’s two year stay before he allegedly over-egged his welcome.
Anyway, for some reason TMZ have decided Gomez’s The Oaks embargo is evidence of a cold freeze between Bieber and Gomez.
But even if the Latina really did rule out The Oaks, nevertheless her new home isn’t a million miles away from Justin’s old pad.
In December, Life & Style magazine reported Gomez was “very close to making an offer on a house inside the Calabasas development where Justin lives.”
A source added, “She looked at other neighborhoods, but really fell in love with a home near Justin’s.”
However, around that time Bieber also admitted in an interview on Power 106’s Big Boy’s Neighborhood show, that he and Selena were “not talking.”
Since then, the ice has evidently melted and relations between Bieber and Gomez appear to be the sunniest they’ve been since their first reunion in December 2012, after their initially split in in November 2012 after two years of dating.
The pair seem to be going through an on-again phase right now. After a Segway outing and an amicable Instagram in January (plus brief rehab for Gomez), they were spotted enjoying a reportedly PDA-packed long weekend in McAllen, Texas, following Bieber’s deposition in Miami.
The surprise sojourn was capped by the “Baby” singer posting two (since deleted) Instavids of himself and Gomez dirty dancing to John Legend’s “Ordinary People,” amid two public declarations of affection by Bieber.
Post-Texas, Gomez turned up in New York City for an adidas NEO advert, while Bieber went back to his native Canada to record new music and ink up at an alarming rate although he now says he’s “done with tats” for a while.
As previously reported, Bieber decamped to Atlanta, Georgia, after his Calabasas mansion was raided by police following accusations that he egged his former neighbor’s home.
However, despite tabloid reports insisting he intended to make the Southern state his new home because of all the hip-hop,CNN later reported a source close to the singer confirmed that is not true.
While on the move, Bieber sold his Calabasas house for a reported $7.2 million to Khloe Kardashian earlier this month after reportedly putting it on the market last year because of ongoing neighbor tensions, finally paying off a $29,000 lien this past week.
Right now, the maybe-Calvin Klein model has just hit Montreal. Meanwhile, Gomez is in Los Angeles.

But if and when we do see Gomez moving her belongings into a new home in Calabasas, all of the above and below are Exhibit A’s as to why Bieber will likely be a welcome visitor.
