Is Snooki Planning A ‘Jersey Shore’ Wedding?
Jersey Shore, beware…Snooki and Jonnie are trying to bring Jersey Shore back for an encore performance. Snooki, real name Nicole Elizabeth Polizzi, is planning a Great Gatsby themed wedding in the fall. Snooki is engaged to Jionni LaValle, who is the father of her son, Lorenzo Dominic LaValle. The pair are also rumored to be expecting their second child. The wedding will take place at the Venetian Banquet hall in Garfield, NJ, and apparently Snooki and her MTV cast mates would like to tape the wedding for a Jersey Shore reunion or perhaps for Snooki’s spin-off with her best friend JWoww, titled, what else but Snooki and JWoww.
The tagline on the official website of the Venetian Banquet Hall is “Where Your Dreams….Become Reality”, so the taping of a wedding there for a reality show would seem a match made in heaven, but town officials aren’t quite so sure. While Garfield’s Mayor Joseph Delaney has gone on record as saying that the taping could be good for the area, which is still suffering from the damage caused by Super Storm Sandy. Councilman Frank Calandriello is concerned, and perhaps with good cause, that the town might not be portrayed in a good light. Snooki and her fellow Jersey Shore cohorts did not always put their best Jersey feet forward.
A drunken, belligerent Snooki was arrested in Seaside Heights, NJ on July 30, 2010. She was charged with disturbing the peace, disorderly conduct, and criminal annoyance of others. Apparently the arresting office was not a fan of Jersey Shore considering the last charge. Much to the embarrassment of New Jersey residents, the entire incident was taped, and aired during the third season of the MTV hit show. Snooki accepted a plea bargain, and Judge Damian G. Murray sentenced Polizzi to a $500 fine and community service. The judge, also apparently not a fan of Jersey Shore, called Polizzi a ‘Lindsay Lohan wannabe’ while handing down the sentence. Snooki was also arrested on May 31, 2011, in Florence, Italy, after crashing her car into a parked police car. Despite the fact that two police officers were injured, Polizzi was released without being charged.
Since giving birth to her son, Snooki has tried to turn things around. After stunning with her baby weight drop, she appeared on the seventeenth season of Dancing With The Stars, partnered with Sasha Farber. Polizzi and Farber were eliminated in the seventh week of competition, but they were well received by the judges and fans.
The Garfield City Attorney is currently considering the contract to allow taping of Snooki and Jionni, but has not given a date for his decision….he has a LOT of tape to watch, after all.
