Jessica Simpson Looks Great in Daisy Dukes, Again
Jessica Simpson, who gained immense fame from her appearance in Dukes of Hazzard in 2005, can now fit in her Daisy Dukes again. She has lost an estimated 60 to 70 pounds.
Simpson gained a lot of weight after Dukes of Hazzard and after her marriage to Nick Lachey went up in flames. She gained a whopping 60 pounds with her first child, daughter Maxwell. Simpson’s second pregnancy went a little smoother. She said this during her pregnancy with second child, son Ace:
Now I’m working out three times a week, I’ve only gained half of what I did in my first pregnancy!”
Simpson, once famous for hits such as “With You” and “Irresistible,” is now the Weight Watchers spokeswoman, all the more reason to lose weight herself and show that the product she endorses actually works. As for how she stays fit? She credits her husband and her children with that, telling USA Today:
[Eric Johnson] and I go on walks together. I try and walk about four miles a day consistently. It helps me feel better.”
And as for her children:
With both kids I’m running up and down my stairs a million times. Kids can keep your metabolism going.”
Body shaming in Hollywood is nothing new, however. When Christina Aguilera started gaining weight there was no shortage of talk about it. She and Simpson were in the same boat for a long time, both gaining weight at a rapid rate after their careers died down. Less appearances means more ice cream, and it definitely showed for both Aguilera and Simpson.
Thankfully, we have the old Daisy Duke wearing, every-man-wants-her Jessica back. Since the “mom jean” fiasco at a concert in 2009, she’s gotten back to her fashion roots. With her clothing line being the first celebrity-run line to break $1 billion in sales in a year, she’s a busy woman: business mogul, mother, and soon to be wife.
It’s been rumored that Simpson and San Francisco 49er Eric Johnson will marry sometime in 2014.
In January, Simpson told Good Morning America about their potential plans:
We don’t have an actual date but we do know that we want it to be this year. We need to get married.”
But how to fit it into Simpson’s busy life? We’ll just have to wait and see.
