Lori Loughlin: Bad Timing Always Prevented Love Connection With John Stamos
Lori Loughlin and John Stamos played one of America’s most popular couples on Full House, but behind the cameras the two were never quite able to get the timing right to follow with a real love connection.
Known to viewers as Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky on the popular family friendly sitcom, the two actors have said they had a mutual attraction and actually dated once in their teens. The two say the would have gotten together when the were older, but the timing always prevented it.
“I was married at the time I was doing the show to my first husband,” Lori Loughlin said in an interview with Yahoo’s Daily Shot. “Literally when I was getting divorced, he met Rebecca [Romijn].”
Loughlin was married to Michael Burns from 1989, the year the show started, until 1996. John Stamos and model Rebecca Romjin would get married two years later.
Since then Loughlin has also gotten re-married, and has be with her husband Mossimo Giannuli for the past 17 years.
Both Lori Loughlin and John Stamos seem to resent their missing timing. Stamos has even referred to Lori Loughlin as “the one who got away.”
“And we actually did date, we went on a date to Disneyland before we were both married. In real life, when we were 18, 19,” Stamos said in an interview this summer. “We did have some off timing, but no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I would say that she could be the one that got away.”
While their failed-to-start relationship is a popular topic with interviewers, both Lori Loughlin and John Stamos said they’re not dwelling on it too much. The two remain good friends, and have even gotten together from time to time with the rest of the Full House cast.
