Candace Cameron Bure Confronts Danica McKellar For Stealing Her Boyfriend
Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar were fellow ABC child stars in the late 1980s and 1990s, but off screen the two were apparently romantic rivals.
The actresses, who are competing against each other on Season 18 of Dancing With The Stars, also had a history of competing for boyfriends. It’s recently come out that actor Jeremy Miller (who played little brother Ben Seaver on Growing Pains) broke up with Cameron in favor of Danica.
“Candace had a run-in with Danica and told her she was the reason she split with her old boyfriend,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly. “She used to date Jeremy Miller from Growing Pains years ago, but he broke up with her to date Danica.”
Fans who watch Dancing With The Stars caught a glimpse of the rivalry and saw the confrontation in person. After their routine, the show aired a clip of Candace Cameron Bure telling Danica McKellar about Miller’s change of heart regarding their relationship and the role Danica played in all of it.
There seems to be no ill will between the actresses now. The Full House star told reporters earlier this month that she was happy to see Danica McKellar included on the show.
“Danica and I have known each other since we were 11 or 12 years old,” Bure said.
Danica and Candace may be taking different paths on the show. While the famously conservative Bure just penned a book where she said wives should be submissive to their husbands, McKellar seems to have no problem taking a racy approach to winning over fans and said she wouldn’t mind showing some skin.
When it comes to the former love triangle, the three child actors have all moved on now. Candace Cameron Bure is now married to former NHL star Valerie Bure, and they have three kids together. Danica McKellar has a son and is recently divorced from composer husband Mike Verta. Jeremy Miller also has three kids with his wife, Joanie.
