Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Ban Cell Phones From Wedding
Kim Kardashian, who ranks as perhaps the leading practitioner of the art and craft of cell phone selfies, does not want any of the guests at her wedding to rapper Kanye West snapping pics of her on their own mobile devices.
Kardashian seems to make news every time she holds her cell phone over her head pointing down at her face, or better yet, into a mirror. See the above photo accompanying this article for her latest masterpiece. But wedding guests, whom one presumes will be drawn from the Hollywood A-list — or at least the reality TV and hip hop A-lists — will have no such chance to express themselves when the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star ties the knot for the third time.
At least, that info comes according to a report from a celebrity gossip site, but it makes sense. Kim Kardashian has always been scrupulous about turning her everyday life into moneymaking opportunities. That last time she got married, it was to journeyman basketball player Kris Humphries — and Kim reportedly sold photo and other rights to that ceremony for a cool $17.9 million, spread among various media outlets.
The value of her wedding to one of the most famous superstars in the music industry will certainly be far higher than that.
It is impossible to estimate how much she might be able to make off her upcoming wedding, supposedly scheduled for May 24 in Paris. But if we assume that Kanye West is at least 100 times more famous than Kris Humphries, well, you do the math.
“Guests will have to go through extensive security, even most of Kim and Kanye’s celebrity friends,” a “source” said. “Mobile devices will be held at a secure location, and if someone needs to use during the festivities, accommodations will be made, but a long way away from the festivities.”
Not only that, but all of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s guests — even celebs — will be required to sign an NDA, that is, a non-disclosure agreement making them vulnerable to lawsuits if they breathe so much as a word about what takes place at the ceremony.
Those details would be spoilers for the upcoming episodes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, where footage from the wedding is expected to air.
Kanye West, however, insisted that his close pals Jay-Z and Beyoncé be exempt from the NDA requirement. But apparently, the music-biz mega-couple may snub the Kim Kardashian wedding ceremony anyway. They reportedly do not want to end up on a a reality show.
