Kenan Thompson, Wife Christina Evangeline Expecting First Child [VIDEO]
Kenan Thompson, the sketch comedian for All That and Saturday Night Live, is going to be a father. His wife, Christina Evangeline, is expecting their first child.
The 35-year old mainstay of the late night skit-comedy show confirmed this on Late Night With Seth Meyers, on March 7th, as reported by the New York Daily. The SNL comedians had a reunion on the late night talk show, which Meyers took over from Jimmy Fallon. As they were reminiscing on old times and catching up on current events, Meyers asked if Thompson was fearful of his new role as father. Kenan responded:
I am terrified. I don’t know what to do with babies. Like, what do you feed it and, like, put it away or something?
Thompson married his wife, Evangeline, back in 2011. They’ll be sharing the parenting duties, but Kenan is very unsure of himself, if he’ll be at the birth. Either Kenan was joking or not, he verified this on the show by stating:
“I plan to be, like, at the casino when she’s giving birth.”
“(I’m) kind of old school, a little bit. That’s what’s freaking me out the most. Because a guy’s doctor visit is kinda, you know, straightforward – just a little cough, a little touch here, a little ear, nose and throat. But women, that’s an intricate type situation.”
The above statements, by Thompson, shouldn’t be a surprise. Over the last year, Kenan had been quite vocal about certain roles and situations, either he be stating them comically or not. Just here on The Inquisitr, it is reported that Kenan expressed his views about casting, especially when he said that SNL can’t find funny black women. However, Kenan continued on to say that black female comedians are not ready for SNL. So on one end, he blames casting, but on the other hand, he says the talent casting isn’t getting isn’t ready. I guess Kenan will have to play both black male and female roles through drag/cross-dressing, but he refuted that he would, unless SNL hired a black female. Sounds like Kenan is causing a bit of a quagmire.
Still, just like E! Online said earlier in their report, congratulations to Kenan Thompson and Christina Evangeline, on having their first child.
